"Development is nurtured by two basic pillars: women and faith. I welcome you to Religions for Peace Mosaic Newsletter, Fall 2007. Women of Faith are central stakeholders in development that is founded on religious values, motivations and perspectives.
In today’s polarized world, poverty, war, and climate change are leading development challenges that threaten the well-being of individuals and communities. Women suffer disproportionately from climate change, war and terror. There is no doubt that distortions of religions have perpetuated social injustices, poverty, and the impoverishment of women and girls. Religious leaders and communities must remain vigilant, stand up against the abuse of religions and protect the human dignity of women and girls at all times."
